Crowd Overflow Okuku As Ayade Lights Up The Area By Admin Paradisevoice There was an uncontrollable crowd who gathered around the newly reconstructed popular and the only roundabout in Okuku, one of the major township-look communities under Yala Local Government Area, as the senator representing Cross River North, Professor Benedict Ayade handed-over over 30 solar energy street light equipments to the community in order to provide light for the people especially at night. Senator Ben Ayade who was represented by his Special Assistant, Dr. Stephen Odey, while presenting the street light equipments, reiterated his readiness, commitment and the pledge of ensuring that communities under his jurisdiction never remain as it was before he was elected. He also charged the people to be awake and take ownership of whatever that is being provided with the aim of ameliorating or alleviating the standard of living or/and difficulties face by the people in their day to day activities. “This is yet another effort of my boss to making life much easier and worth living for the people he is representing. Senator Ben Ayade, your son whom all of you have decided that is the right person to represent you, has no option than to serve you to the fullest. In his capacity, he is representing you very well at the senate, sponsoring bills, advancing issues that are of your interests, and doing the job of a law maker so well too. But, he can never be satisfied even at that as he sees his people wallowing in abject poverty and suffering in one difficulty or the other. That is the reason why he chooses time to time to come out to intervene in one project or the other deemed necessary and important for the good of the people that he is representing. All he needed from you at this point, is your prayers and supports so that he can be encouraged to do more,” he added. Odey maintained: “Today, the senator is partnering with your Local Government to make sure that you see properly even at night. We all know that night is very dangerous - even dangerous when there is no light for people to see their way from a distance. Now, our senator is putting heads together to ensure that night don’t remain our threat while walking our way, so he decided to partner with our council to bring light for us. Thanks to the senator, the man who has the people at heart! For him as your law maker at this moment, his target is to continue to complement the effort of the state and local governments, in order to improve the living conditions of our people wherever they live, While receiving the 30 solar energy equipments from the senator, onbehalf of the people of Okuku community, the executive chairman of Yala Local Government, Mr Mike Usibe thanked the senator for his dogged effort in making life meaningful for the people he represents as parliamentarian. The council boss said: “These 30 solar lights the senator is donating for you – the people we serve today, is not the only thing he has done or going to do for all of us. He has done several things for us before, yet, he is still itching to do more by the mark of what we are witnessing today. Remember that a few days ago, the senator donated new brand set of transformer to generate light for the use of Wanakom community, and today, we are receiving solar light gadgets from the same man onbehalf of the good people of Okuku, is that not what we look for from our leaders?” Usibe questioned. Also, the youths leader whose name could not be recorded by paradisevoice reporter, but spoke onbehalf of other mammoth youths in attendance, expressed gratitude to Senator Ayade with a promise to protect the solar lights from the hands of miscreants and disgruntle elements who may want to vandalize the project for selfish reasons. The presentation which was attracted by unprecedented crowd from all walks of life, also has the attention of the executive chairman of Yala Local Government Area, Mr. Mike Usibe, who was escorted by his enviable wife, alongside the Council’s Vice Chairman, Honourable Stella Odey and other exco members. Also in attendance, were the Leader and Deputy Leader of the council’s legislative arm, as well as all the councilors representing various political wards in Yala Local Government Area. The high point of the event was the presentation of the 30 solar energy street light equipments, the speeches and all kind of familiarization offer to one another by throng of admirers and supporters of Senator Ben Ayade as well as the PDP stalwarts in Yala Local Government Area.
