Crowd attacks rape accused at Bowring hospital. BANGALORE: A 26-year-old man who allegedly raped an eight-year-old girl had to be rescued from an angry crowd that was baying for his blood at Bowring hospital late on Tuesday night. Additional police forces had to be rushed there and the man was locked up in the VIP ward to save him from being lynched. The girl was allegedly raped at a construction site in Saraipalya, Thanisandra, East Bangalore. Daughter of a meat merchant, the girl went missing around 6.30pm and returned home an hour later bleeding and sobbing uncontrollably. After listening to her story, her mother realized the child was taken to a nearby construction site and raped. The girl was taken to Hennur police station, from where she was admitted to Bowring hospital. On Wednesday, she was shifted to Vani Vilas hospital. "Preliminary investigation revealed the accused lured the girl saying he would buy her chocolates. After taking her to a desolate place, he raped her," police said. The girl sustained external injuries and will have to undergo a major operation," family sources said quoting doctors.TOI
