Crowley Steel & some nice browns are still hangn in the Upper Owens. Two Bug Doug reports Larry Corbo was flat out on it today. Sal Corbo showing off a blushing bow. Fish are still hunkering in the holes and deep slots. Nymphing with attractors, flashback Pts, crystal Vanderleeches, & Agent Orange are solid picks. Middle Owens still fishing well although the mega hatches have started to dissipate. Midges will be the entree from here on this winter. Baetis mayflies will start to show in Mid/late January. Flows still very low at 75cfs. The flow gauge at PV outlet does not function well below 100cfs. We are still drifting the sections down from the confluence of Bishop Creek. Streamers like Spruce-A-Bus, Loebergs, Crystal Vanderleeches, & purple seal buggers are good calls. The Big One is predicted to hit beginning Thursday afternoon. A local weather gal is stating that we have not seen a wind event like this in several years. The atmospheric river is set up to begin flowing into drought stricken Ca this month. This is forecast to be a big snow maker with arctic air temps arriving with the passing cold front Saturday. Another weaker storm is coming through on Monday.
