Cruel Theft of Mobility Scooter Bedfordshire Police are seeking the cruel thieves who stole a 84 year old man’s red mobility scooter from outside Guild House, 56-58 Harpur Street, Bedford between 10am and 11.45am on Tuesday 16 September. Nadine Edwards, investigating said: “The 84 year old man from arrived at Guild House, a Popular meeting place for people over the age of 50, that provides a wide range of activities every day. At about 10 am on Tuesday. He left his mobility scooter in the Foyer of the day centre and at around 11.45am as he left he discovered the scooter was gone. A quick search of the area was conducted but it was nowhere to be found. “The victim still has the keys for the scooter and is unsure how the thieves managed to start it or take it away from the foyer. The scooter is the victim’s only mode of transport and he used it daily to get him to and from the day centre. It is made by a company call Pride, is red in colour and valued at between £3500 to £4000. “If you were in the Harpur Street area Tuesday morning and saw anyone making away with a red mobility scooter we would like to hear from you, or if anyone you know has sudden acquired one or is offering one for sale.
