Cruel and Unusual..... Even tho I could hardly walk, let alone - TopicsExpress

Cruel and Unusual..... Even tho I could hardly walk, let alone get out of bed, I had an ankle cuff attached to my good ankle, a ten foot log chain attached to the cuff and the other end of the chain bolted to the leg of my 400lb hospital bed. Once I was able to get out of bed there was just enough chain to make it to the bathroom. The bathroom was shared by the adjoining room, a separate door for each room. One guard was so worried that I might escape that once when I got up to use the bathroom he told me to leave the door open, then he stood in the hallway so he could see the opposite rooms bathroom door. I guess he thought that I was going to drag that 400lb bed thru the bathroom and escape out the window.?.?.? Oh ya Im pretty sure that this guy got fired from his last job as a Wal-Mart greeter... While I was in the hospital I was in a private room the other bed had been removed so it could be replaced with two recliners so that the two guards watching me had a comfortable place to sit. Yup evidently I was such a badass criminal that I warranted two guards 24hrs a day 7 days a week. Every 8 hours a different set of guards would arrive. There was a TV in the room but the guards had complete control of the remote. I have never liked watching hockey on TV (boring...) but these guys loved it. During the 2 weeks I was there I was subjected to cruel and unusual of having to watch complete hockey games whenever they were on. I was able to watch the big ball drop in New York City on New Years Eve 2008 from a hospital bed in Sandstone MN. The doctors and nurses were pretty nice, considering I was a criminal who was chained to the bed. The meals were also not to bad, I would be given a menu, for the next days meals every morning. Off that menu I was given a couple different choices to choose from plus what I wanted for a beverage. You could also get a nightly snack of ice cream or cookies if you wanted. I would mark down every thing I possibly could, hell I wasnt paying for it. I even made sure that I got a small bottle of Mallox with each meal. While I was in the hospital for the first 10 or 12 days I was given 3000cc of antibiotics interviensly every day. I got a pain pill 4 times a day. It took a good week before I started feeling half normal. After a few days the doctor would monitor the swelling and redness in my leg by outlining it with a magic marker he could then see how fast or if the redness was going down. After about a week the warden would call the doctor every other day to see when I could be released. Finally after two weeks I was healthy enough to go back to prison. I would love to see just how much the Federal Governments bill was for my stay. I was in a private room for two weeks, I had two guards, making sure that I didnt escape, 24hrs a day, I had antibiotics going thru my veins 24hs a day, pain pills, three meals a day, numerous x-rays and ultra sounds. By the end of each day my little clip board was full of those little stickers that are attached to everything you get in the hospital. No wonder the warden was so anxious to get me back to my cell. So are there any of you medical people out there who might have a ballpark figure of what my two week stay may have cost?????
