Crying Wolf: The Guity Are Afraid In good conscience, PDP and its wolf criers should not have anything to fear in APC or any other party with locus standi intending to litigate certain circumstances of an electoral exercise sufficiently illegal and compromising to make the exercise a legal nullity. Take note that bonafide democracies expect elections to live up to their credibility as true affirmations of voters franchise which should not be alienated by any man, woman or means. The court system is a legitimate and an integral part of a democratic system of government, APC is demonstrating traits of a responsible corporate citizen by refusing to subscribe to self-help as PDP, on the contrary, is wont to do in similar circumstances.Law is the anthesis of an eye-for-an-eye. There is a litany of cases where PDP as a party and the Jonathan administration as its executive derivative have pursued, by omission or commission, partisan advantage through illegal and immoral avenues. These acts breach the oaths of office sworn by President Jonathan and many of his malfeasor cabinet members. Rather than crying wolf, PDP and its tentacles should prepare to offer any credible defence they may have to offer and rebut plaintiffs case. Raising the noise decibel level in unwarranted protestation, as they have tried to do, amounts to a futile exercise at diverting attention from substance. Nigerians are determined to rid their country of gangs of marauders and the time for doing that is now. NIgerian chidren, living and unborn, are entitled to a country that offers the appurtenances of a civilised society. And, no sacrifice should be too great to ensuring that: a life without meaning is hardly a life worth living. PDP should stop crying wolf. Its members should stop carrying on as if they have found an insurance policy that guarantees they will live forever. By way of fair disclosure, I am neither an APC nor a PDP member. If anything, regrettably now, I gave moral support to getting Jonathan elected. My passion is pursuing truth and transparency to realise the best for Nigerian children of today and tomorrow. tribune.ng/news/top-stories/item/9124-ekiti-poll-apc-overrules-fayemi-goes-to-court-party-is-planning-mayhem-pdp
