Cuda is one of our newest graduates of the Veterinary CyerKnife Cancer Center. She has an invasive urethral tumor and is being treated with chemotherapy as well. Cuda would not have been a good candidate for conventional radiation therapy, as too much normal tissue would have been included in the radiation field. The CyberKnife allowed us to limit the radiation dose to the tumor and successfully excludes nearby sensitive normal structures (as you can see in the picture below). She was treated with 3 fractions (treatments) and did well with each one. This case demonstrates the ability of the CyberKnife to reach tumors that have not been commonly treated using conventional radiation therapy.
