I have read the entire series and I think you should start with the first book so that you understand Liz and what leads her towards the second book. The ending of the first book really took me by surprise and laid the foundation for the next book. Liz is a strong and no nonsense woman with a realistic, yet compassionate personality. She cares deeply for her daughter, her friends and her community and isnt afraid to let that show. The characters are interesting and the story holds your interest throughout the book. As you go from book to book, you see the growth of Liz and the characters that continue through the series. Another author that I have moved to my favorite to watch for list.
