Cultre is like air, we only notice when it gets foul...the Gor - TopicsExpress

Cultre is like air, we only notice when it gets foul...the Gor Mahia culture has been foul for too long now...but why? The hindrance in dealing with the Gor Mahia hooliganism is two thronged. Internally, our leaders have preferred silence to correction for fear of losing a key political wing. Gor Mahia serves very well, some peoples political clout. Again, the outsiders fear being seen as anti-Luos, in the event they may deal with them as ruthlessly as equals the material damage inflicted. The system, fears ethnic backlash if some effective measures were to be implemented. But what then is the prescription for this malady? Can Gor Mahia fans pupport to claim, through their overdue beligerence, that they are a bunch of untouchables? And can we register this claim in our psyche and let them entertain themselves? No! Cognizant of the availability of responsible fans of this great team; aware of the financial rewards the fans pour in stadia, but which they take not back, but burn; and equally aware that a majority of the fans hail from my Luo nation; I find no shame in telling the police that if no legal action can stop them, extra-judicial measures can succeed. We shall mourn just ten but save so much on property, decorum, civility and order.
