Cultural Ambassador Musical Update: Ive been formally invited for a Winter Music Residency by The Ministry of Culture, Republic of Tuva & The Center of Tuvan Traditional Culture for Alash Ensembles 15th Anniversary Concert in Kyzyl, Tuva, celebrating almost two decades together as one of the premier ensembles gifted with the challenge & mission of bringing Traditional Tuvan Music & Culture to the world... On the behalf all of my people in Baltimore, The Maryland State Arts Council & the rest of The United States, I have accepted. With the recent & untimely passing of our great mentor Kongar-ol ONDAR on July 25th, 2013, as well Alashs upcoming album Achai (Father), featuring small elements of my music all dedicated to his enduring legacy, walking away from this future moment in time is definitely not an option. Ill arriving in Abakan, Russia & Kyzyl, Tuva for this once in a lifetime adventure during the month of December, 2014 & will be returning to the U.S. in January, 2015, more details coming soon.
