Cultures apparently are of two types when it comes to negotiating and addressing issues....monochronic or polychronic. The United States is a monochronic type, implying that it prefers definite beginnings and endings, scheduled breaks, dealing with one agenda at a time, talking in sequence, detest lateness, etc. whereas polychronic cultures prefers flexible times, breaks as needed,do not take lateness personally, addresses several agendas at a time,etc.......of course there are these divisions within our culture even though in general we tend to be monochronic.....do you suppose this presents problems in our overall abilities to function in risk management resolution ?
