Cumberland County Sheriff Detectives are investigating two separate robberies involving pizza deliverymen in the Hope Mills area over the weekend. On Saturday night, January 23, 2015, at around 7:30 p.m. a Domino’s Pizza man was attempting a delivery at a home on the 3600 block of Winesap Road, which had been placed via the internet. As he stood on the porch, three masked men approached from the left side of the residence. One of the suspects brandished a semi-automatic pistol at the deliveryman, demanding he hand over all of the money he had. The suspects fled the scene with twenty dollars in cash, the deliveryman’s wallet and cell phone, as well as an order of chicken wings and two 2-litre sodas. The victim did not suffer any life threatening injuries. An investigation determined the residence was being advertised “For Rent” and was vacant. A “For Rent” sign which had been posted on the property, had been removed and tossed in the back yard. Twenty minutes later, there was another robbery of a pizza deliveryman. This one happened on the 3900 block of Constance Road, in the Legion Hills subdivision. The victim says he made his pizza delivery and as he was attempting to get in his vehicle and drive away, three men approached him, pulled his passenger door open and point a gun at home. The suspects managed to get away with forty six dollars in cash and the victim’s wallet which contained his driver’s license and credit cards. In Both robberies, the suspects are described as black males, between five feet nine and five feet eleven inches tall. Both have an average weight between 190 and 220 pounds. All were wearing black ski masks with black baggy sweater type clothing. Anyone with information about these cases are urged to contact the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at (910) 323-1500 or dial 911 for immediate assistance.
