Cumbernauld Theatre is grateful and delighted with Creative Scotland’s continued support, extending now to 2018, which was announced on 30th Oct 2014. The theatre is proud to be recognised as delivering high quality performing arts and community engagement in North Lanarkshire and for Scotland. The recent sold out Intimate Secrets Season, with the latter 2 of the 3 plays directed by new Artistic Director Tony Cownie, demonstrates the public appetite for vibrant new work. Our innovation in the performing arts wouldn’t be possible without Creative Scotland and North Lanarkshire Council backing the theatre’s vision. It’s this overall creative vision and spirit of partnership working with CS and NLC which will inform and help deliver a flagship new Arts Centre and Theatre for the area in 2017. Creative Scotland Regular Funding will ensure the organisation develops even stronger roots from which to expand and develop.
