Cumin Seeds Market Report This year the crop of Cumin Seeds was very good in terms of quality, but at the time of harvesting due to rainfall, crop got damaged. Still the yield of Cumin Seeds very high approx 3.6 lacs tones which is 20% more than previous year, but this year at the beginning of new crop-2013 there was good international demand as well as domestic, 60% of the crop is consumed till date and balance 40% crop is with capable farmers and they are holding cumin seeds crop for better prices. At present due to appreciation in USD against Indian Rupee the prices of cumin seeds are at least bottom but in near future Indian Rupee will recover which may lead to increased prices of cumin seeds on or before beginning of July-2013 Looking to the above facts we have reached a conclusion that Indian Cumin Seeds price may hike around USD 200/MT at the same time in Syria and Turkey new crop of cumin seeds are expected very low than regular yield, if same good international demand of cumin seeds continues with current buying trend then market will move up very fast So it is advised to procure required quantity of Cumin Seeds prior to monsoon starts in Northern part of India because later product will have more moisture contents
