Cup shock helps Chelsea - Rodgers. Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers believes Chelsea will have a greater motivation to reach Wembley after their shock FA Cup defeat to Bradford City. The Reds head to Stamford Bridge after drawing the League Cup semi-final first leg 1-1 at Anfield. Chelsea lost 4-2 at home to Bradford on Saturday, having led 2-0. The result at the weekend doesnt help - they will have great motivation, said Rodgers. When you come off a game like that, you want to put it right. However, Rodgers believes the manner of Chelseas defeat will give his side hope if they do fall behind on Tuesday. There is also that, in the back of your mind, even if youre up in the game - like they were, 2-0 - you can still lose the game, added Rodgers. So Im sure therell be that wee bit of trepidation. Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois made a succession of saves in the first leg and Rodgers believes that a repeat of Liverpools attack-minded performance could reap rewards. He said: We played them last week when they were coming off the back of, arguably, their best result and performance of the season against Swansea but we were outstanding in the game. We know it is going to be a tough game but we are certainly going into the game with no fear and our strength is very much in our attack. We showed that in the last game. The team is on the up, we have seen that over the last number of weeks. Weve got great confidence knowing that, in particular away from home, our form and resilience is getting better and better and we can get a result. What can you say to Rodgers comment: mind game? #Emperor
