Curazao defeats Panama after late game double, 5-2 Curazao and Panama passed the lead back and forth five times on Friday at Félix Millán, but in the end Curazao pulled out a 5-2 win in seven innings over Panama. Curazao pulled out the win thanks to a strong fifth inning. Curazao scored on a double by Mychelon Jansen off Mario Delgado. Jansen was hot from the plate for Curazao. Jansen went 2-4 and scored three runs. Radolf Gonzalez had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the first and sixth innings. Siamani Boekhondt recorded the win for Curazao. He allowed two runs over 3 2/3 innings. He struck out one, walked four and surrendered four hits. Delgado took the loss for Panama. He lasted just 4 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out two, and allowed five runs. Curazao closer Ruendy Carolina put away the final 10 outs to record the save. In the top of the first, Curazao grabbed the early lead, 1-0. Milduard Baranco started the rally for Curazao with a single. Dayken Brigel singled, scoring Jansen. Panama answered Curazaos top inning with one run of its own in the first. Panama scored on an RBI single by Rodnier Grajales. Panama tied the game in the fourth on an RBI single by Gonzalez that scored Delgado.
