Curious for some thoughts on this...someone said it should be only one orange pearl and that my DOF is poor on it. My thoughts - I had quite a few shots because Ive never seen orange formations like this, especially not cave pearls. There were a half dozen or so scattered throughout a mass of a couple hundred, all about BB pellet size. A wide angle missed all the detail, just showing texture with some pops of orange from whoknowswhat?. Getting in close and only to one made it look unatural and photoshopped, because the eye isnt used to seeing something like this and I cant say I know of anyone ever who has found odd colored cave pearls. Having the second in frame tells the mind this is natural, WOW!. The second is somewhat hidden and is out of focus, the focus is on the main pearl clearly in view. This brings the eye down into the image resting on the main focus - the in focus oddly colored orange pearl. Your thoughts? Not sure I will change my mind especially being there and knowing my options, but I am curious because I felt that critique I got was off base and Im curious to get more informed opinions.
