Curiousity got the better of me and Ive found myself sat and staring blankly at the costs of maternity care, childbirth, and childcare in the U.S. How do people afford babies?! I knew it was expensive, but I thought my mind would at least slightly exaggerate the figures due to obvious biases. Turns out Ive been massively underestimating. How much debt will the average middle-class couple of my generation be. Between the degrees, the wedding, the mortgage and cars and kids. In five years, when were breaking thirty, after interest.
