Current Affairs , 01st August, 2014 A. Jacques Kallis announces his retirement 1. South African All rounder, Jacques Kallis, has announced his retirement from all format of cricket. 2. This African All-rounder has career record of scoring 11, 574 runs coupled with 250 wicket in Test cricket and 13, 289 runs coupled with 166 wicket in ODI cricket. B. Lokmanya Tilak Award 2014 1. Avinash Chander has been awarded with the 32nd edition of Lokmanya Tilak award (for the year 2014). 2. He was awarded for his contribution in development of long range ballistic missiles. 3. The award carries a gold medal, memento, citation, besides cash prize of rupee 1 lakh. C. 3rd India Africa Forum Summit (IAFS-III) 1. The third edition of the IAFS will be held in New Delhi. 2. The IAFS-III is scheduled to be held in December 2014. 3. IAFS-II was held in Addis Ababa in 2011. D. Militant group Ansar al-Sharia seizes second largest city of Libya 1. Recently, the second largest city of Libya “Benghazi” has fell into the hands of Islamic group Ansar al-Sharia. 2. The country has no respite since the fall of Qaddafi in 2011. E. Indian Railway is to provide Wi-Fi facility 1. The Indian railways will launch Wi-Fi facility on pilot basis in 3 rakes of Howrah New Delhi Howrah Rajdhani express. 2. Later on, government has plant to provide Wi-Fi facility in all A1 and A category stations.
