The resolution called for a peace deal within 12 months. There were eight votes in favour, including France, Russia and China, two against and five abstentions, among them Britain. The government said it has decided to now separate the post of chairman and MD & CEO. Apart from the SBI, in the new appointments of PSBs, the chairman will be a part-time Board member who would preside over the Board meetings and will not be an executive chairman. As part of the new process, the government appointed four new CEOs of banks. R Koteeswaran has been appointed as MD and CEO of Indian Overseas Bank AnimeshChauhan will head Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC)). Kishore Kumar Sansiwillbe the new MD and CEO of Vijaya Bank.
