The application can be downloaded from the google app store with the name of Chhattisgarh DPR free of cost. Press releases and news photographs once browsed through this software will remain available on the mobile set. The company will launch its own footwear brand in coming days. ====================================================== 6 tiger reserves worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore, says valuation study ====================================================== In a first of its kind exercise, India has conducted economic valuation of six of its tiger reserves and placed their value at Rs 1,49,900 crore. The study has also noted that these six reserves have been generating annual monetary benefits worth Rs 7,970 crore. The six tiger reserves which were surveyed for this study are Corbett, Kanha, Kaziranga, Periyar, Ranthambore and Sundarbans. India has 47 tiger reserves covering over 2% of the area and approximately 10% of the recorded forest area. Latest tiger census, released on 21 January, shows that India - which is home to 70% of worlds tiger population - has a total of 2,226 tigers. ====================================================== #Ola, one of the leading cab aggregators, announced Rs 123 crore safety fund ====================================================== Now send a SOS to your near and dear ones as soon you book a ride on the Ola app. Ola, one of the leading cab aggregators have now started a special security feature wherein, the commuter can click the button on the homescreen of the app and an alert message is sent to the pre-set emergency contacts of the user. Ola also announced a separate Rs123-odd crores fund for safety features for 2015 alone. SOS also sends mails to the emergency contacts of the commuter. It can help the cab company track the trip real time. The company has already added a feature wherein, the emergency contact of the commuter will always get a SMS to track the ride, as soon as it is booked on the app. Not just the SOS, feature but it has also employed a company to do background verification of its drivers. Authbridge, one of the leading background verification companies have started the process of checking antecedents, criminal records and family etc of the drivers through an extensive field survey. The company is also adding a second GPS machine to all its cabs for having another layer of check on the cabs real time. ====================================================== Rajnath to launch website on security apps ====================================================== With an objective to promote innovation in developing security related web applications, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will soon launch web portal ‘MySecurity.in’, providing a platform to enterprising individuals, companies and non-government organisations. The web applications would be made available for public use. Only those applications that pass security audit will be allowed to be hosted on the website. The MHA will give priority to the applications aimed at providing security in emergency situations to women, children, senior citizens and other vulnerable sections of society. ====================================================== An entire Sorapattu village of Mannadipattu in Puducherry shuns using chemicals for growing crops ====================================================== Farmers in Sorapattu village of Mannadipattu in Puducherry seem to have a lot of information on using integrated pest management (IPM) for protecting their crops rather than using chemical pesticides for the same. IPM means judicious combination and use of all locally available pest control agents. All the farmers in the village have invariably curtailed the use of plant protection chemicals and started following practices like using neem oil, neem cake, tricho cards, light trap, pheromone trap, and ‘T’ shaped bird perches, thus helping them save more than Rs.5,000 per hectare towards crop protection (before they adopted this the cost was about Rs.6,800) ======================================================
