Current odour emissions at the oxidation ponds arises from a cable - TopicsExpress

Current odour emissions at the oxidation ponds arises from a cable fault that stopped two of the three aerators in the No. 3 oxidation pond from operating. The aerators are now being operated manually while the cable fault is fixed. Our 3Waters team is monitoring the situation closely and if there is no significant improvement by tomorrow (Wednesday), will look to install extra aeration capacity to get on top of the problem. Council staff are very aware that odour emissions from the oxidation ponds can cause a significant nuisance for people living or working in the vicinity and we can assure anyone who has been affected that this is being dealt with as a matter of urgency.
