Currently all roads in the City of Tuscaloosa have been cleared of storm debris. The main issues reported during the weather event included flash flooding and downed trees throughout the City. The traffic signal at the intersection of McFarland Blvd. and Interstate 20/59 is under repair. An officer will be on site to direct morning traffic. Between 4 p.m. and Midnight: · 1 fatality and 1 injury were reported · 13,000 people lost power in Tuscaloosa County · Tuscaloosa 311 received 213 calls · Dispatch (TPD & Fire and Rescue Services) responded to 190 calls · Tuscaloosa Magnet School housed 80 individuals in safe room · Tuscaloosa Career & Technology Academy housed 140 individuals in safe room · TDOT measured 2.13 inches of precipitation City staff will continue to assess damage in daylight hours and monitor for a potential weather threat during the afternoon of April 29.
