Currumbin clucky over chick Curlew Chick Hatches Housed high on the west side ridge top aviaries, the National Trust Australia Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary watches over their bush thick-knee and their small clutch of eggs. The wildlife teams met a new chick this week. At only a few hours old, the team were able to grab some photographs of the chick, parents and remaining egg. Wild populations of this ground dwelling bird are declining in number due largely to predation by introduced species such as foxes and cats .
