Customer service failings hitting bottom line : A report written by the Economist Intelligence Unit, has revealed that nearly two thirds of companies find their bottom lines are significantly hit by poor customer services. A further one in four companies have failed to invest in customer service in the past two years. The report also found that 28% of companies have lost customers as a result of poor customer service; 24% have had to compensate customers; 15% have seen their share price hit by service failings; and that only 37% of companies have a strategy to link service and bottom line.
