Honig, an attorney who practices business law at Duane Morris in Boston, urges corporate board members to increase their cyber literacy to better watch out for potential risks. He applauds the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) for recently issuing a report that addresses the role of boards in cybersecurity. NACD noted that generally expertise is lacking at the board level when it comes to IT matters, and that a demand for IT expertise has not been manifest in adding new directors. NACD notes that greatest director dissatisfaction with quantity and quality of information provided to boards fell in the area of information technology, he wrote. With the average age of public company directors increasing, the addition of IT-savvy younger directors could be the next trend.
