Cycle rally for charity The Xavierian Alumni of Godavari (XAG) organised a Cycle Rally on Saturday to mark the World Tourism Day. The rally — inaugurated by Fr Boniface Tigga SJ, Regional Superior of Nepal Jesuit Society and Fr Jiju Kevilill SJ, Principal of St Xavier’s Godavari — started from Patan Durbar Square and went through Pulchowk, Lagankhel, Satdobato, Thaiba before culminating at the St Xavier’s School in Godavari. Shikhar Insurance and Nepal Investment Bank Limited were the main sponsors of the event supported by Nepal Tourism Board, Trishakti Tailors, IMS Mobile Insurance, UFO, Freedom Export, Adarsha Hostel, Himalayan Bank, Sunrise Bank, Sadabahar weekly, Alliance Insurance and Nepal Housing and Merchant Finance. Around 600 participants took part in the event organised to help the Medical Camp and Water Purification Project in Maheshpur and Sadakbari in Jhapa district. The rally was followed by musical performance. Through a wide range of talent hunt across the country, NNSBF will pick up one shuttler each – ageing seven to eight years – from five development regions and a best overall. The selected will be provided with educational scholarships and free training until they complete their +2 studies.
