General Description: This position will serve as part of a comprehensive team of health care professionals providing high quality outpatient care in a state/government hospital. General responsibilities include: Preparing and staining microscopic slides from specimens of blood and tissue scrapings and body fluids, examining cells of the human body to detect evidence of cancer, abnormalities, and other pathological conditions, categorizing slides, recording classifications, compiling listings of patients for follow up analysis, and reporting all unusual cell structures to the Pathologist, and addressing all daily operations of the cytology laboratory. Cytotechnologist will also act in a teaching role to the Azerbaijani employees. Experience: Two (2) plus years’ experience as a working Cytotechnologists required Vast Clinical Experience and Knowledge required Military Service with deployments to other countries preferred but not required Required Credentials: Bachelor’s Degree and completion of an accredited 1 year program in cytotechnology or participate in a cytotechnology program which awards a Bachelor’s Degree at the time of completion Graduate of a Cytotechnology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) CT (ASCP) certification BLS certification Lab Computer skills Proficient with various lab equipment Three (3) Letters of Recommendation Must have a current U.S. Passport Must have a current U.S. Driver’s License Qualifications: Be physically able to perform physical duties such as heavy lifting, kneeling, bending, etc. Have a leadership mentality with a positive attitude Ability to function as part of a team, as well as work independently Knowledge of professional standards of care Ability to establish and maintain effective relationship with others Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing Computer skills to include Microsoft Office software and general computer navigation skills Notice: To be eligible for this position, you must be able to pass a background check.
