Czech Tank: Former Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD) 2-8-2T No.524.184 is seen here at Ústí nad Labem station in the northwest of the Czech Republic, near the German border. The Class 524.1 tank locos were built between 1918 and 1943 and eventually numbered 162 examples. They were designed primarily for freight working, weighed 97.5 tonnes (95.9 long tons, 107.5 short tons) and had a maximum speed of 55 km/h (34 mph). It is now based at the National Technical Museum in Prague. Four other locomotives of this class are also preserved – numbers 524.1110, 524.1110 and 524.1117.
