Czech cuisine is quite similar to bavarian and austrian ones, with lots of dumplings,roast meats, dumplings,schnitzel and goulash. I wanted to introduce something slightly different, something you wouldnt eat in touristy restaurant while visiting Prague. The meal is quite simple , but me and my family love it. It reminds me of my childhood and summers spent with babi (grandmother ). Here we have fried cauliflower with potatoes and home made tartar sauce. Cauliflower florets get blanched briefly in boiling water, then coated in flour, beaten egg and breadcrumbs and fried in oil. Tartare sauce consists of half mayo half sour cream(I used yoghurt today),mustard, finely chopped onion, gherkins, parsley,salt and pepper.
