Boston Herald Nicole Adams|Boston Animal Advocacy Examiner Subscribe Follow: Advertisement October 31, 2013 The man charged with the abusive torture of Puppy Doe, the female pit bull mix now made famous around the world, is looking at deportation to his native country, Poland, according to the Boston Herald. Federal immigration officials will deport Radoslaw Czerkawski after he has gone through court proceedings, including prison time, if convicted. The illegal alien faces up to 55 years in prison if he is convicted and sentenced to the full extent of the law. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has issued a detainer, which will also be served should bail be posted. Czerkawski will not be back on the streets anywhere in the U.S. A detainer is defined as “a notice that DHS issues to federal, state and local law enforcement agencies (LEAs) to inform the LEA that ICE intends to assume custody of an individual in the LEAs custody,” per ICEs website. Czerkawski is wanted for other crimes other than Puppy Does murder. He committed check fraud in New Bedford. He was a caretaker for an elderly woman in Quincy, who died the same day Puppy Doe was found. Police investigated her death, the cause of which was said to be “failure to thrive.” Czerkawski had a work visa, which expired in September.
