C’River PDP suspends Jeddy-Agba, 12 others osundefender.org/?p=193452 Barely two weeks to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) primaries; the Cross River State chapter of the PDP has suspended one of the governorship aspirants in the state, Mr. Goddy Jeddy-Agba, along with 12 other members of the party. Chairman of the Party, John Okon, who announced the suspension in an interview with newsmen in Calabar, on Friday said that the members were suspended because they failed to exhaust all available conflict resolution mechanisms within the party and had gone contrary to the party’s constitution by dragging the party to court. According to Okon, “following the just-concluded delegates election, a lot of issues occurred and some members ridiculed the party by dragging the party to court against party rules. “Some other party members from across the state have sent petitions to me. And I had to summon the party exco in the state to sit over them. We did not have to waste time unnecessarily over them so we are not accused. When the exco looked at the whole petitions, they passed a resolution that those involved in such allegations be suspended. “They are referred to appropriate party committee in line with constitution of the party for thorough investigation. This committee, headed by Mrs Josephine Effiom, former chair of Akpabuyo Local Government Area, will study it and they have power to either clear or sanction them by sending recommendations to us.”
