This case started as an investigation into street-level cocaine dealers, but that was only the tip of the iceberg. Investigators unraveled a diverse array of illegal moneymaking schemes that involved stealing victims’ personal identifying information to fill forged oxycodone prescriptions and cashing counterfeit checks. This case illustrates the growing intersection between street crime and white collar crime, as well as the strong collaboration between my Office and the NYPD.”
