DADAA deputation meets Director DDK GJ REPORT JAMMU, AUG 4: A delegation of the Doordarshan Approved Drama Artists Association (DADAA) today met with the Director Doordarshan Kendra Jammu, Shabir Mujahid and highlighted various problems being faced by the artist fraternity due to non productions of in-house serials and commissioned programmes. Led by President, J.S Babli the deputation informed the Director that approved artists are facing a lot of problems due to the pathetic attitude of the DDK and demanded the redressal of their grievances at the earliest. They also demanded for continuing the Drama slot by telecasting old serials, till the new productions are not commenced so that the time allotted for Drama may not be utilized for other programmes. They further alleged that since the day of inception of Doordarshan Kendra at Jammu, the local artists are struggling for their livelihood and nothing has been done for the development of Cultural Heritage of Jammu region. The members of DADAA submitted a memorandum to the Director, demanding Duggar Channel, for submitting the same to the Prasar Bharati authorities. The Director DDK, Jammu gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured that their genuine demands will be looked into in a phase wise manner. He also informed them that the programmes were stopped due to scarcity of funds besides the grant for the financial year 2013-14 has not been allotted to the Kendra by the authorities of Prasar Bharti, till date. He also issued the orders for telecasting old serials, every Friday at 7.30 pm as demanded by the DADAA. Others present on the occasion included Sandesh Vir, Janak Khajuria, Madan Rangeela, Surinder Goel, Subash Jamwal, Uttam Singh Uttam, Arun Bakshi, Vijay Magtora and Susham Sharma.
