Part-time positions (DSP/Electronics/Microcontrollers) at GIKI, Pakistan Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences & Technology (GIKI), a premier institution known for its academic excellence and ranked as the best engineering university in the private sector by HEC, invites applications from committed and competent individuals for the following part-time positions (@ 20hrs/week) for an internationally funded research project by International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) at the Laboratory for Bio-inspired Simulation & Modeling of intelligent Life (BiSMiL Lab) on contract basis. Qualified individuals with hands-on experience in circuits & electronics, micro-controller based systems and real-time signal/data processing applications are encouraged to apply. Essential expertise (most/some of the following): 1. Demonstrated ability to develop micro-controller based systems (AVR/PIC/dsPIC) (specifically using any/most of the following): i- telemetry applications, ii- GPS, GSM, I2C/UART/USB interfacing, iii-data acquisition systems (high speed S&H ADCs) & sensor/data integration, iv- Secondary memory interfacing, v- Matlab-based micro-controller interfacing/programming 2. Ability to (i)design, debug or reverse-engineer a given circuit & its electronics and (ii) design, develop & use break-out boards for prototype designs and implement/test them. Strong communication and presentation skills, ability to meet deadlines in a challenging and dynamic environment and willingness to conduct field work/experiments is essential. Qualifications 1. Four year BS degree or relevant qualification. 2. Experienced technicians with relevant experience & diploma qualifications (without BS or higher qualification) are also eligible to apply.
