DAILY CELEBRATION OF CHRIST, Wednesday, October 29, 2014 First Reading: Ephesians 6:1-9 Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 145:10-14 (R.v. 1) Gospel Acclamation: Luke 19:38; 2:14 Gospel Reading: Luke 13:31-35 Celebration of Christ: Jesus, the Way that leads to heaven Message: Enter by the narrow door Our Lord Jesus Christ is the Way that leads to heaven. In the gospel of John chapter 14:6 our Lord Jesus Christ said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.” Jesus is not just the Way but the ‘only way’ that leads to heaven. There is no other way! In today’s gospel from Luke chapter 13:22-30 when Jesus was asked “Lord, will those who are saved be few?” Jesus answered, “Strive to enter by the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the householder has risen up and shut the door, you will begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, “Lord, open to us.’” The narrow door is the way that leads to Our Lord Jesus Christ, Jesus himself is the Way that leads to heaven. He is the Master and the householder. He is the One that holds the key to heaven. The door he opens no one can close, the door he closes no one can open (Revelations 3:7). The narrow door may not be an easy way. It is not even a popular way. The narrow door is hidden from many. Only a few discovers this narrow door. If you want to enter through this narrow door, then you must embrace the Way of our Lord Jesus Christ. With Jesus Christ all things are possible. He makes a way where there is no Way, He is the path that leads to freedom; may His name be glorified forever and ever – Amen!
