DAILY DEVOTIONAL READING Tue. 27/1/2015 Accountable One To Another Heb. 3:7-19 In a congregation of serious Bible believing Christians, each member serves as his brothers’ keeper. In this evil and perverse world, it is so easy to get entangled in sin. In a congregation however, without being judgmental, we can help one another to stay clean of these entanglements. When a brother or sister dabbles into sin, the first sign to observe is that he or she begins to avoid the fellowship of other believers. Any time you begin to feel reluctant to attend fellowship, check to see if there is a stain in your garment of holiness. In our fellowship, we should be humble enough to accept correction from other believers. If you are so spiritual or so big that other believers cannot correct you, if you are on the wrong path, then there is danger ahead. There ought to be someone you are accountable to for your actions, someone who can look at you right in the eye and tell you that you are wrong. Point of Emphasis: We should exhort one another to holy living in our congregation. Prayer Point: I reject the spirit of pride, which would make me reject correction if I am wrong. Memory Verse: “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching (Heb. 10:24-25) NKJV.
