DAILY ENCOURAGEMENT 08-08-2014 CONFORMITY TO CHRIST-LIKENESS By Fred Trokie Romans 8:28-29 says: 28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. 29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren. Every believer in Jesus Christ is in the process of being conformed to Christ likeness. This means that God will take every situation that comes into your life and work it together for your spiritual good. How does this work? How does God work everything together for good? God is omniscience. Thats a theological term in regards to one of Gods attributes, this one meaning that God is all knowing. God knows everything even before it happens. Isaiah 46:9-10 9 Remember the former things long past, For I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me, 10 Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things which have not been done, Saying, My purpose will be established, And I will accomplish all My good pleasure. Have you ever been to a parade, or watched a parade on television. Well if you ever have been to one you know that you can only watch a parade one frame at a time. In other words your standing in a stationary spot somewhere on the sidewalk while the parade marches by in the street. You see each aspect of the parade as it passes, but you never see the whole parade all at once. However high above the parade (in some cases) there is a Goodyear Blimp hovering overhead. The people in the blimp have a perfect view. They can see the whole parade from the beginning to the end all at once. Thats how God sees the one who is being conformed to Christ likeness. He can work all things together for good because He can see the whole parade (so to speak) all at once. He knows what will happen before it even happens. Within the believers life, God takes all these things and choreographs them in such a way as to bring glory to Himself, and Christ likeness to the believer. This is an ongoing process that every believer in Jesus Christ experiences. Philippians 1:6 says: Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. God Bless - Fred
