Its Friday the 23rd day of January 2015. *************************************************************************** Weather Forecast *************************************************************************** A low pressure system lies over the interior of the state and should weaken into a surface trough over the interior by Saturday. An upper level low pressure system also lies over the interior and is helping to produce rain areas across parts of eastern Queensland. The upper low should weaken out by Saturday as it drifts east. Showers, rain areas and storms from the Capricornia region down to the southeast, and inland to the Great Dividing Range, with some locally heavy falls possible, particularly with thunderstorms. A medium to high chance of showers and storms over the remainder of the eastern districts, and a slight to medium chance over the central interior and southern interior. Fine and sunny over the far west. ----------------------------------------------- Australian Synoptic Chart Summary ----------------------------------------------- The trough in the east will continue to trigger showers and thunderstorms about eastern QLD, NSW, VIC and TAS, heaviest about southeaster QLD and northern NSW. A trough over WA will trigger thunderstorms.
