DAILY MUST READ. THE OLD AND THE NEW TESTAMENT. THE PURPOSE OF THE OLD TESTAMENT [Law], GALATIANS 3:16-19. One purpose of the Law in the Jewish dispensation was to keep Abrahams posterity a separate and distinct race until the promised seed[Christ] should come. The Law was called the middle wall of partition [Eph.2:14] GALATIANS 3:23-29; The Law Was a Schoolmaster, or tutor, which was to bring mankind to the first advent of Christ. Now that Christ has come, we are no longer under the tutor or schoolmaster- the Law. We are now under Christ. HEBREWS 10:1. The Law was a shadow of things to come. The ministries of the tabernacle and the temple of the Old Testament time prefigured the church of the New Testament. The animal sacrifice, the loaves of showbread, the seven- branched candlestick, and the altar of incence represented, or pictured the New Testament church, and her worship including the Lords Supper, the Word of God, prayers, praise etc. The sacrificial offerings of the Old Testament are certainly a clear figure of Christ-the Lamb of God [John1:26]. Now in Christ, we are no longer under shadows [Col.2:14-17] This is HOSSANAH VOICE. You are blessd.
