YEAR 13 PEER SUPPORTERS - a reminder for 1 or 2 persons per group to come and pick up your requirements for today’s activity from the Peer Support Office in B Block. 3. YR 12, 13 – The following students need to see Whaea Kimiora today at the Careers Centre – B Block at interval, as I am waiting on permission slips for the Get Ahead day next week in Hawera. If you don’t turn up it will be assumed you’re no longer interested and your place will be passed on to students on the waiting list. ALL SENIOR STUDENTS INTERESTED IN HEARING ABOUT STUDY OPPORTUNITIES AT LINCOLN UNIVERSITY: Please register your interest at the Careers office today. 8. ALL: WIN A RAFFLE WORTH $120. Come to MB foyer at morning tea and lunch on Friday 21st March to purchase a raffle ticket to support the Yr13 Enterprise girls. 9. WACKY HAIR DAY: Want to be in a crazy hair competition? Get a team of 2-4 together, one being the model and the rest the stylists. $5 for your team with all products provided. Find us on facebook for the entry form. Search ‘Wacky Hair Day!’ All proceeds go to charities such as SPCA, Starship and Leukaemia and Blood cancer NZ! Also featuring Bailey Bruckner shaving her hair off for charity! Come along and have some fun while supporting a great cause! 10. MUFTI DAY: Next Wednesday (26th March) is purple day, an international day of epilepsy awareness. Please wear as much purple as possible to show your support. Purple ribbons will also be sold in MB Block foyer for a gold coin donation and girls will be walking around with collection buckets next week. Please give generously as all money raised goes to the Epilepsy Association of NZ. 11. STAGE CHALLENGE: Rehearsal Schedule for week 7 in the Dance Studio 1:55pm – 2:15pm. Please be there for costume checks. Monday – Hoe-down, Tuesday – Spies and Protesters, Wednesday – Jazz, Thursday - Soldiers, Friday – Cheer. All Stage Challenge money needs to be in by the end of this week to student services with your named ticket forms. 12. WEEKEND REHEARSALS STAGE CHALLENGE: All actors/dancers except for Pacifica 1pm start. All stage hands 2pm start this Sunday 23rd March. 13. ALL: Drama Club is back again this year! Tuesday mornings in C2 – attend four times to earn a point for your Drama badge! 14. 3 DAY PLAYS: is coming! Arts Week is next week – attend all three lunchtimes to earn a point for your drama badge! C2 See you there! 15. HAUORA COMMITTEE: Urgent meeting for all students in the Hauora committee this Friday lunch in MB1. 16. TECH ANGELS: Could all Tech Angels please come to a quick meeting in MB1 TODAY, at the start of lunch. Thanks. 17. SENIOR MATHEMATICS COMPETITION (Y12 AND 13): The annual CASIO/Eton Press Senior Mathematics Competition will be held on Thursday May 22nd. The entry fee is $2 and forms are available from outside student services and need to be in by Monday 31 March. Past papers and solutions can be obtained from Mr Bone (Maths Office). Participation (and practice papers) can contribute towards your Maths Badge. 18. MANDARIN CLUB FRIDAY 21ST IN B13: Could the Mandarin Club tutors please come to this meeting (Sandra Huang, Alice Cao, Chen Chen Su, Gloria Yang, Grace Chen, Faye Wei and May May Liu.) Remember that your tutoring counts towards your school service award. WANT TO LEARN CHINESE MANDARIN? - Anyone interested in learning conversational Mandarin, is also welcome this week. Our topic for our first meeting is: greetings and is at beginner level. If you havent volunteered to be a tutor yet and speak Mandarin, its not too late, please come along. All welcome. Bring your lunch 19. SADD: Hi girls! There will be a bake sale TODAY at lunchtime in MB foyer to fundraise for SADD this year. Come along 20. ROADSAFE TARANAKI will be holding their annual young drivers day this year in Hawera at the Egmont A & P show grounds on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th April. The course is aimed at 16-25 year olds and will provide theory/interactive based education around behaviour and attitude on the road plus provide practical driving sessions on emergency braking and cornering. 21. CHILE MEETING today in B13A at beginning of lunchtime. 22. WANTED WAIMARIE BUDDIES: Any year 9 or 10 students who may be interested in training to become a “Waimarie Buddy” please come to a meeting in the Unit. On Monday 24th at lunchtime the training will be explained. Opportunity for learning and to have fun. 23. ALL INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS please meet at the Flag Pole at 10.30am today – for an International Photo. 24. HEY GIRLS. ANY INTERNATIONAL STUDENT OR STUDENT NOT BORN IN NEW ZEALAND here is your chance to dress up in your national costume or wear an iconic representation of your culture. We are having an International parade of costumes during Arts week. Come and celebrate your national identity. We will meet by the flagpole at 1:45 Tuesday 25th and wander around the grounds. Spot prizes are up for grabs. SPORTS 1. NETBALL: Netball registrations are well OVERDUE. Netball starts on Saturday 5th of April. If we dont have your yellow forms we cant register your details with Netball Taranaki. They MUST be in this week. 2. BASKETBALL - ALL: All blue registration forms were due last Friday. If you have not returned this and you have been named in a team, or have been included in a social team list - you are well OVERDUE. Please get them to Student Services this week or you will miss out playing in Term 2. 3. INLINE HOCKEY: Please check the noticeboard at the stadium for TODAY’s draw. 4. SPORTS PERMISSION FORMS: Please have these filled in and returned to Student Services. There are a lot of sporting activities happening and your permission forms are essential for these. 5. SOCIAL LEAGUE VOLLEYBALL: Is on this Friday check the stadium draw. 6. GO-4-12: Urgent meeting - Friday at interval in O4. You need to have entered and organised your support crew. You MUST bring a copy of your waiver. 7. SOCIAL FOOTBALL: Registrations are due this Friday 21st March. Get them in ASAP or risk missing out. 8. ACADEMY FOOTBALL: Get your fitness and Registration forms in asap with you registration fee. Don’t forget to register online on Goal net.
