DAILY SHARING Ezekiel 45.1-17 45 When you inherit the land by lot for an inheritance , you shall be a holy offering to the Lord a portion of the country, long twenty- five thousand and ten thousand broad , and it shall be holy throughout its extent. 2 Of this there shall be for the sanctuary five hundred to five hundred square and fifty cubits for an open space all around. 3 On this stretch of twenty- five thousand cubits long and ten thousand in breadth , you shall measure a location for the sanctuary, the most holy place . 4 This is the holy portion of the land shall be for the priests the ministers of the sanctuary , who come near to the LORD to serve him , that is where are their homes, and it will be a sanctuary for the sanctuary . 5 Twenty -five thousand cubits long and ten thousand of breadth the property of the Levites , the ministers of the house, with twenty rooms. 6 As city property ye shall appoint five thousand cubits wide and twenty-five thousand in length , alongside the holy portion: it shall be for the whole house of Israel. 7 For the prince shall a space on both sides of the holy and the property of the city, along the holy portion and along the property of the city, on the west side westward , and from the east side eastward , over a length parallel to one of the portions, from the west limit to the limit of the east. 8 It will be his land, his property in Israel : and my princes shall no more oppress my people , but they give the land to the house of Israel according to their tribes. 9 Thus saith the Lord GOD : Enough , O princes of Israel ! remove violence and spoil, and execute judgment and justice , deliver my people out of your abuses , said the Lord GOD . 10 Ye shall have just balances, a just ephah , and a just bath . 11 The ephah and the bath shall be of one measure, that the bath may contain the tenth part of an homer, and the ephah the tenth part of an homer: the measure thereof shall be after the homer . 12 And the shekel shall be twenty gerahs . The mine will be home twenty shekels , five and twenty shekels , fifteen shekels . 13 This is the offering which you shall make the sixth part of an ephah of an homer of wheat, and the sixth part of an ephah of an homer of barley. 14 What you need for oil, the bath of oil , will be the tenth part of a bath out of the cor , which is equal to a homer of ten baths , for ten baths are a homer . 15 A sheep in a herd of two hundred of the fat pastures of Israel will be given for the offering , the burnt offering and the sacrifice of peace offerings , to make atonement for them , says the Lord GOD . 16 All the people of the land shall give this oblation for the prince in Israel. 17 shall be the prince of burnt offerings and libations , festivals , new moons , Sabbaths , in all solemnities of the house of Israel: he shall offer the sin offering , the offering , the burnt offering, and the sacrifice of peace offerings , to make atonement for the house of Israel . lower TWO WEIGHT TWO MEASURES ? " Everyone should serve scales and fair measures" (10). Relativism and compromise does not mix well with truth and justice. God had already been solemnly warned his people in Deuteronomy : "You do not have in your bag of inaccurate weight , some heavier and others lighter . You do not have either at home measures falsified, some larger and some smaller . You need to have that accurate weights and fair measures . Thus you will live long in the land which the Lord your God will give you "( 25.13-15 ) . "The Lord hates distorted scales, but it supports the use of exact weights ... Having two weights, two measures , that is detestable to the Lord " (Prov. 11.1 , 16.11 , 20.10 ) . The temptation of "two weights, two measures " is not new. The leaders of the people are willingly yielded (9) and things have not changed much since then ... But the kingdom of God is truly present when her children live in the real respect and real fairness to all , regardless of their rank. The Kingdom of God " consists of righteousness, peace and joy given by the Holy Spirit" ( Rom 14:17) . In what area of my relationships with others Can I use "two weights, two measures" , as it does or my interests? Examples: Spend more time with someone who can open doors for me , maybe even in the Church ... Give my full attention to someone who values me and complimented me rather than someone more demanding and intrusive (which may be justly itself needs to be enhanced and complimented ...)? Prayer: " Lord , teach me that day to be fair, equitable and weigh my words ... on the scale of your truth . " D. Ourlin Share this note
