DAILY SPRING: TOPIC: THINKING TEXT: Phi 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Thinking is a mental attitude; it means, to dispose the mind in a certain way, focus one’s attention on a certain state, ponder, reflect on or reason, use or exercise the mind, the power of reasoning in order to make inferences, decision , arrive at a solution or judgment. The extent or degree of your thinking determines the quality of your life (Prov.3:7). It is a known fact that, you can not change a man, until you change his thinking. The whole essence of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ is to change our thinking; we are expected to see things in God’s perspective and not in the way the world sees it; because our thinking has the capacity to impair our perception and objectivity of things or situation. Apostle Paul, in the above scripture admonishes every believer to consider these eight critical points in relation to our thinking; that whatsoever that are (1) True (2) Honest (3) Just (4) Pure (5) Lovely (6) Good Report (7) Virtue (8) Praise. We should thinking on these things! Beloved, we need to ask or allow the Holy Spirit of God to restructure, realign and fine-tune our minds, to conceive good thinking that will bring forth good actions always. As children of God by Christ Jesus, we are not to think arrogantly (Rom.12:3) or think childishly (1Cor.13:11). Therefore, there is need to examine what what we are thinking of ourselves, others or situation, whether there in line with what the scripture enumerated above; in order to avoid prejudice. I pray the Holy Spirit will help us all in Jesus name. Amen!
