DAILY WALKING WITH GOD #288 BURN THE BRIDGE NOW The language NO TRTREAT, NO SURRENDER is peculiar to the military. It means you must go forward at all costs. Sometime ago, a commander was leading his army on a military campaign. His army was fretful because the other army was legendary in victories. The commander and his army, having landed in the hostile country, ordered his men to destroy their ships, and a connecting bridge so that they would have to conquer the country or be killed. Figuratively, BURN THE BRIDGE means to commit oneself to a particular course of action by making an alternative course impossible. The Israelites faced a similar dilemma at the Red Sea and they were considering engaging the reverse gear when Moses countered such terrible alternative. And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. 14The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”15And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward. Exodus 14:13-15 (NKJV). As a child of God, you have been conscripted into the Army of the Lord of Hosts and the only option you have is constant victory. No other alternative! You have been commanded to burn the bridges that may suggest failure, fear, doubt, sin, hatred, faithlessness, discouragement, thoughts of disappointment, hopelessness, etc,mto you. Why? Your victory is assuredly guaranteed over all of them. The only option for you is to move forward and see the testimonies that God has prepared for you on the other side.
