DALHOUSIE 1.Dainkund Peak Diankund is the most facinating place in the entire area. The ascent to the Dainkund begins after a turn from the Lakkar Mandi.The top of the hill is unfortunately occupied by an Indian Air Force establishment. It is believed that in old days there were witches living there who used to trouble the villagers to no end, Because of this Dain Kund is also known with the name of Witchs Pond. Dalhousie- Dainkund is one of the most frequently undertaken tours from Dalhousie. The mountain of Dainkund rises to an altitude of 2,745 meters above sea level and provides a breathtaking view of the surrounding regions. Dainkund is the highest mount in Dalhousie that provides the picture book scenery of the whole valley. Daikund is popularly known as the singing hill 2.Subhash Baoli The spring of Subhash Baoli is situated at a height of 6,678 ft in Dalhousie and provides excellent views of snow-capped mountains. It is named after Subhash Chandra Bose, who is believed to have visited the place every time he traveled to Dalhousie. 3.Bakrota Hills Bakrota Hills, located at an altitude of 2085 m above the sea level is part of the Dalhousie Hill Station. A superb view of the snow-clad peaks of the Himalayas can be had from here. The Bakrota Mall at a height of 2085 m in the Bakrota hills is beautiful place to walk. It goes round the hill and offers you a spectacular view of the snow covered mountains. The sanctuary area is well laid out for trekking trails both at Kalatop and Khajjiar. There is a dense deodar and fir forest covering 19.63 km² of the sanctuary, which is about 6 km from Dalhousie. Pheasants, serow and black bear are some of the common animals found here. The sanctuary lies in the path of the Ravi River, and is surrounded by coniferous and oak forests. 5.Satdhara Falls It is at 2035 meters beyond the sea level. Satdhara is a masterly and amazing place, which is a good collection of scenic beauty, It has a serene ambiance and very pleasant weather. Satdhara is a mixture of Seven streams, believed to have curative properties flow. Located on the Punchpula route beyond the ocean range, this lovely spot has acquired its name from the seven gorgeous springs. 6.Khajjiar Lake It is situated in Khajjiar, in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is situated at a height of around 1,920 m above sea level between Dalhousie and Chamba Town. The lake is set in a huge grassy landscape, with evergreen cedar trees surrounding it from all sides. The lake takes its name from Khajji Nag, the deity in the temple nearby. 7.Mall road Mall Road is a central hub in the city. A visit to Mall Road will give you a greater insight in to Dalhousie. In and around Mall Road visitors can explore various other places of interest including restaurants, shops and other establishments. Khajjiar Khajjiar is a hill station in Chamba district, Himachal Pradesh, sits on a small plateau with a small stream-fed lake in the middle that has been covered over with weeds. The hill station is surrounded by green meadows and dense forests. It is about 6,500 feet above sea level in the foothills of the Dhauladhar ranges of the Western Himalayas and snowy peaks can be seen in the distance. It is part of the Kalatop Khajjiar Sanctuary. It has a rare combination of three ecosystems: lake, pasture and forest, all in one place.
