DANCE TIP: FINGER CYMBALS - for ease of putting them on. If you replace the narrow elastic that comes with your cymbals with the widest elastic you can find you can make your cymbals less tight and still keep them secure on your fingers. I need to be able to take my cymbals on and off on stage with some regularity because I do a lot of prop work and double veil, and the friction from the width of the elastic allows me to make them a bit less tight. I use 1 elastic (2.54cm) in my cymbals. I pleat it and then force it through the slots in the cymbal with a jewelers screwdriver. I also take RED nail polish and put a dot on the top of the thumb cymbals in line with where my finger goes through the elastic. Red because it shows up as black under most colored lighting. In line with the path of the finger through the elastic so it is covered when I get the cymbals on. Your mileage may vary, but your fingers wont fall off.
