DANCE TYPE: Disco PROFESSIONAL PARTNERS: Claire Broyles STUDIO: The Dancer’s Workshop WBRZ Anchor Michael Marsh knows how to adapt. His experiences living and working all over the world have given him a unique perspective on change and the importance of adaptability. Though Michael was born in New Orleans, his father’s Navy career lead to multiple relocations during his childhood. These experiences prepared him for the fast-paced growth of the TV News industry, in which he has been working for nearly 40 years. His life as a Reporter and current News Anchor at WBRZ has been filled with change, excitement, and new experiences, but Baton Rouge has a special place in his heart. He graduated from LSU, where he met his wife. They have been married for 37 years, and, as Michael says, “Hats off to her for putting up with the relocations.” Michael and his wife have two daughters and two grandchildren. WHY BIG BUDDY? Michael was familiar with Dancing for Big Buddy through WBRZ’s work with the event, and the invitation to be a Star Dancer presented a new challenge for him. “I’ve heard the stories of my co-workers who’ve danced in the past, and some have won! I hope to uphold that standard. I’m used to public service in the profession I’m in, but this takes it way out of the realm of every day.” He hopes this will be a learning experience and looks forward to lending his talents and “lack of rhythm” to the show. Michael believes that Mentors provide needed direction to children, and he hopes his participation in this fundraising event will garner attention for this cause and “lead to a win for Big Buddy.”
