DANCE TYPE: Salsa PROFESSIONAL PARTNER: Dr. Le’Brian Patrick STUDIO: The Dancer’s Workshop April 26, 2014 - Originally from Lafayette, Ashley Hebert moved to Baton Rouge in 2003 to begin undergraduate studies at LSU. She received her Bachelor and Master of Public Administration degrees from LSU. Ashley recently left her job at the Louisiana House of Representatives to become Regional Transportation Safety Planner of the Capital Region Planning Commission. She currently represents the great state of Louisiana as Miss Louisiana International 2013. Although she is near pageant retirement, she is committed to promoting a positive image throughout the community for young people to emulate. WHY BIG BUDDY? “As Miss Louisiana International 2013, it is my responsibility to mold and shape young minds and let them know the only limitations they face are those limitations that they place on themselves. Knowing that Big Buddy’s mission to provide access to positive role models and learning experiences to children who lack resources, how could I not get involved? The lack of positive role models leading children to good life choices is the reason I committed to this. I’m only one person, but with Big Buddy, I am so much more.” Ashley says this experience has propelled her individual growth, and she cannot wait to share her new-found talents and inspiration! “Already I have tapped into a side of myself I didnt know was there. Dancing for Big Buddy has pushed my self-confidence to a new level, and it’s an amazing experience.
