DANG! We cut down the dosage for Crestor a little over a month ago. Upped some dosages on certain meds , discontinued others. My blood pressure is great - unfortunately, the cholesterol numbers are not as good as on the full dose of Crestor. However, I can at least climb the steps into the house and walk around without having severe muscle and joint pain. It was even painful to lay down in bed. I am now on a 500 mg dosage of Niacin ER for a month. If I can tolerate that, then November we will increase it to 1000 mg per day. Did not have very good luck several years ago with the Niacin regiment. Hopefully this time it will be different as we are gradually building up the dose. Lets keep our fingers crossed... Unfortunately - I had a sticker shock when I went to pick up a months worth. Even with my Humana - $90.00 for one month! Ouch.
