DANY GLOVER Tells the Racist Criminals to Stop Persecuting Haitis Jean-Bertrand Aristide! January 1, 2004, following the Bicentennial Independence celebrations, while in a Petion-ville restaurant with brother Dany Glover, I was sad to experience first hand how Haitis rich who live up the mountain count among them some very backward and idiotic folks. Knowing that Dany is a progressive Black activist who always stands with the impoverished in their struggles for justice (Haiti, Cuba, Africa, U.S., worldwide), the restaurant owners who were also well aware that this late at night, there were very few places to eat in the city, waited after we were seated, had ordered the meal and began to enjoy a good conversation to crank up the music up to a level that rendered impossible our conversation. It took a while to confirm what was really going on, but eventually we realized that we were eating at a restaurant owned by one of Haitis notoriously backward right wing families and they despised the fact that Dany Glover came to Haiti to celebrate the bicentennial of the end of racial slavery in the Americas. And, I have first hand knowledge of the many attempts made to dissuade Dany from coming to Haiti on that occasion. The racist forces in the U.S. tried their best to paint then-President Aristide as a tyrant, and they never missed an opportunity to deride the very celebrations of our people. I know there are folks who find it hard to believe that our world has many deranged skinheads running the business of powerful nations. They have caused us to think of skinheads as the confused young men who wear weird clothes and yell nigger at people of African descent or the idiots who throw bananas at Mario Balotelli or again those who make monkey chants at French Justice Minister Christiane Taubira or those who like to draw cartoons of First Lady Michelle Obama as a gorilla. Those annoying idiots are not the real threat. We better pay attention to the three-piece suit wearing criminals who - with or without hair on their heads - are giving orders to assassinate Black Leaders, topple their governments, conduct mass murders of entire populations. These are the diplomatic skinheads! Some of them play saxophone.
